Welcome to Mrs. Veenema's Wiki. You know me as Language Arts and Social Studies teacher. What you may not know is that I am also a traveler, former basketball-star (almost), and calligrapher slash card-crafter as the pictures below demonstrate. I am also a stair-walker, cake-baker, Christ-follower, graduate-student, wife, and soon-to-be-mother. Welcome to my site! Here, you can find links and information about the classes you are taking with me.

There are some schools where using technology is the goal of the instruction. At my school, however, learning is the goal of the instruction, and technology is simply a tool for learning. With that in mind, I aim to include the use of more technology in my classes - namely a wiki - because I believe authentic learning can happen through the use of technology. A wiki allows students to work collaboratively, learn new digital literacies, and become motivated to participate in their own education.
